Synopsis

Once again the DCPG has an incredible line up for the annual Potters Open Day:-


Key speaker : Prof Stephen Dixon

Stephen Dixon is a British ceramic artist and professor at the Manchester Metropolitan University. He is also a satirist, writer, lecturer and curator. He is known mainly for his use of dark narrative and for using “illustrated ceramics pots as an unlikely platform for social commentary and political discontent.”  Wikipedia

Demonstration by Wendy Lawrence

Wendy creates rich exciting sculptural ceramics inspired by natural forms and textures. She enjoy experimentation and inspires those about her with her enthusiasm and knowledge.

Demonstration by Brendan Hesmondhalgh

Brendan creates unique ceramic and bronze sculptures of animals, with a focus on movement and character.  He uses the surfaces like that of a canvas: full of directional and textural marks to enhance each form.
